I shrugged miserably, taking a small sip of the drink I was provided. It wasn't a familiar taste, and, after a while, it made me feel dizzy and weird. I normally wouldn't have noticed, but...suddenly, it was like everything was glowing. Bright yellow, hot pink, sky blue, the colors and combinations were endless, mingling and silvery as they drifted through the empty space above us.
The music became louder, engulfing the chit-chat and clatter of plates and trays and silverware, touching me right to the core. Every note the cello played, I heard, every tune the piano fingered, I attentively listened to, every lonely
